Black Ops Zombies: Cold War is a first-person shooter game set in a near-future version of the Cold War, in which a private military modern warfare company has become involved in a worldwide conflict between the United States and China.

The game allows up to four players to engage in cooperative gameplay, while a fifth player can engage non-cooperatively by playing as zombies.Black Ops Zombies: Cold War is the downloadable content pack for Black Ops Zombies, which adds a new story, and a new game battlefield setting."Cold War" is the name given to the conflict Duty setting in Black Ops Zombies.
The setting is a former Soviet satellite state, and gameplay is centered on conflict between the invading Soviets battlefield and the defending local militia and freedom fighters modern warfare.The Storyline consists of three stages.
Stage 1, "Death from Above", is based around the Soviets plan to sabotage the transport system, Stage 2, "Forgotten Temple modern warfare", is set in an abandoned Russian temple, and Stage 3, "Redemption battlefield", is set on a series of man-made islands.
